As a licensed provider, VNP ensures that its employees are screened, referenced, and verified through comprehensive criminal history and background checks and drug testing. For our customers' protection, all caregivers are trained, bonded, and insured prior to entering customers’ homes. We employ our direct care staff, we maintain workers' compensation coverage and liability insurance, and we follow the guidelines of the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act (HIPAA) of 1996; please refer to our Notice of Privacy Practices.

VNP caregivers are required to participate in a full schedule of orientation and training that includes company policies, procedures and expectations for exceptional customer care; CPR; personal care skills; issues of aging and various disease processes; nutrition; infection control; proper use of personal protective equipment; and emergency preparedness. Caregivers attend continuing education inservices throughout the year, featuring topics such as incontinence care, caring for customers with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, and more. VNP staff is also required to have a Mantoux test annually to check for tuberculosis exposure.
