Service Policies
Weekend Rate
The weekend rate begins at 12:00
am on Saturday (midnight
Friday) and ends at 12:00 am
Monday (midnight Sunday). Any hours of service provided during this time
will be charged at the weekend rate (which varies, depending on level of
service provided.)
Holiday Rate
A holiday begins at 12:00
am on the day of the
holiday and ends at midnight on the day of the holiday. Any hours of
service provided during this time will be charged at the holiday rate.
The holiday rate is one and one-half times the weekday rate, and is
charged for the following recognized holidays:
New Year's Day
Easter
Memorial Day
Independence Day (July 4)
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Eve Day
Christmas Day
Overtime Rate
The overtime rate is one and one-half times
the weekday rate and is charged for any hours worked over 40 hours in a
work week (Saturday 8:00 am
through Saturday 7:59 am)
by a caregiver if the caregiver is not legally exempt from overtime pay.
The overtime rate will be charged only after Visiting Nurse Plus informs
the customer that overtime hours are involved in a particular work week
for a particular caregiver and the customer agrees to the overtime work.
Notice of Cancellation or Refusal of Service
A minimum charge for services (fee
depending on the type of service ordered) may be assessed if service
has been ordered and cancellation is received less than two hours prior
to the scheduled visit time. This charge may also apply if the customer refuses help or is
not at home when the caregiver arrives. Cancellations should be made by
telephone to the VNP office no less than two hours prior to the time the
caregiver is scheduled to arrive at the customer's home.
Billing Schedule
Billing for services is based on the
calendar month; customer bills reflect all charges incurred during the
entire previous month of service. Payment is due within 15 calendar days
after the date of the invoice for the charges for service. Any unpaid
balance not paid within the 15-day period will incur interest at the
rate of 1.5% per month on the unpaid balance.
Changes in Schedule or Services
Any change in the schedule of services or
the services to be provided must be made through the Visiting Nurse Plus
office and not through a caregiver. Any change attempted to be made
through a caregiver is not effective or binding on VNP.
Change of Rates
If the rate for any service changes, VNP
will notify customers in writing as soon as possible--and not less than
14 calendar days--prior to the change.
