Meet the Leaders of the VNP Team

|
Gloria Horton serves as the Executive
Director of Visiting Nurse Plus, Inc. Gloria earned a Bachelor of
Science degree in Accounting from the University of Southern Indiana,
and joined Visiting Nurse Plus in November 1986. Following positions
in Accounting, Human Resources and as the Assistant Executive Director,
Gloria assumed the Executive Director role in April 2004. She serves
on the Board of Directors of the National Private Duty Association
(of which VNP is a charter member) and is also Treasurer of the Board
for the Indiana Association for Home and Hospice Care. Gloria’s
passion for assisting the elderly motivated her to become involved
with her state home care association many years ago, and she looks
forward to helping shape the home care industry-- particularly the
non-medical segment--on a national level. |

Janice Utley, County Operations Manager,
oversees the human resources, marketing and customer service functions
for the Visiting Nurse Plus office in Princeton, Indiana.
A lifelong resident of Princeton, Janice joined Visiting Nurse Plus
in 1990 to assist the agency in establishing operations in Gibson
County. With a background in accounting and social services, her
previous experience includes positions at Holiday Manor Convalescent
Center and the Gibson County Area Rehabilitation Center. She has
served as a board member for the Gibson County Council on Aging,
as a co-facilitator for Alzheimer’s support group meetings,
as chairperson of the Gibson County Health Fair and as an advisory
committee member of Healthy Families. Janice views the elderly as
one of our nation’s most valuable resources, and through her
work and community contributions, hopes to help them earn the respect
they deserve from society. |

Penny Benton, RN, graduated from the Deaconess School of Nursing and is presently pursuing certification in Geriatric Care Management. Following a decade as a surgical intensive care unit nurse, she became a staff nurse for Visiting Nurse Plus in 2002, and currently serves as Professional Services Supervisor. A member of the VNP management team, she ensures that policies, procedures and patient assessment methods are compliant with the Indiana State Department of Health and is also responsible for employee compliance. |

Cindy Erwin earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Public Relations from the University of Southern Indiana. Upon returning to Evansville after 13 years in a hospital-based community relations position in Jasper, Indiana, she joined Visiting Nurse Plus in 2004 as Marketing Supervisor. In this role, she develops and directs all marketing, advertising and public relations strategies and initiatives, and serves as a member of the management team. |

Pam Smith, Customer Care Supervisor, received a Certificate in Management from the University of Southern Indiana, and has been a member of the VNP staff since 2002. She assists with service inquiries, establishes and oversees customer service plans, and performs scheduling and supervisory functions for VNP caregivers during daily operations and for After-hours services. |

Kelly Wahl attended Lockyear Business College, and has worked for Visiting Nurse Plus in a variety of capacities since 1997. Currently a Customer Care Supervisor, she assists with service inquiries, establishes and oversees customer service plans, and performs daily scheduling and supervisory functions for VNP caregivers. |

Vickie Gish, Human Resources Supervisor, attended University of Southern Indiana, University of Evansville, and received her degree in Human Resources Management from Oakland City University. She previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a sales representative and telesales manager with a regional drug wholesaler. She joined Visiting Nurse Plus, Inc. in 2001 as Marketing Coordinator and later assumed the responsibilities of Marketing Supervisor. In 2004, she moved with her husband to Indianapolis, IN and worked for the Indiana Association for Home & Hospice Care, the state home care association. After returning to Evansville in 2008 she rejoined VNP as Communications Specialist and later as Accounting Coordinator. In addition to managing the HR functions, she oversees the IT functions, serves as the HIPAA Safety Officer for the agency, and is a member of the management team. |
